About the artist
I began to express myself artistically in the 90s, giving new meaning to scrap and developing sculptures in my grandfather's workshop, for which I won awards in salons, and held individual and collective exhibitions.
After this phase, I dedicated myself to a maritime career for 18 years, as I did not have canvases, I painted on nautical charts on the high seas (maritime maps that are made from an aerial view and combine longitude and latitude).
I started to bring this reference of aerial view to my canvas paintings, bringing and provoking urban sensations of known, unknown and even unimaginable places.
My inspiration always comes from the images on the cards and they soon take a direction that is out of control, creating without following rules or patterns but rather the pulse of the art that lives within me.
In the last three decades, Accardis' artistic path led him to contemplate social representations through collections like Misplaced , Human Collection , and Blend . These collections reveal the contradictions in every day, working with commonplace objects and backdrops making the created scene more relatable. Using humor, symbolism, and tributes to famous artists before him Accardi represents culture, history, and even a prediction of the future.
